Introducing MyGuardPod: Adrenal Insufficiency Edition!
It all started with a Reddit Post. Someone had posted a hard travel case made specifically for solu-cortef. It looked beautiful, however I did not think it would work in my situation. My intramuscular needles are longer, and I desired a case that would be able to hold everything needed for an emergency injection. I sent a simple message on Etsy to the creator, not expecting much of a response.
Y’all. He messaged me back almost immediately. That is how the collaboration between Clearly Alive Art and MyGuardPod began.

The End Results
In this TL;DR era (internet slang for “Too Long; Did Not Read”), let’s jump straight to the point. Here is the Etsy listing for the new Solu-Cortef Case. He also has a few different options available, if you would like a different size.

Key Design Considerations
- Must protect two vials of Solu-Cortef (unboxed for a more rapid response time).
- Must protect four intramuscular syringes where the needle is attached to the syringe.
- Must have a separate compartment for alcohol swabs, with the ability to hold the larger size swabs.
- Must have a separate compartment for band-aids.
- All items must be visible upon immediately opening the case.
- The case should be able to be clipped to another item for increased visibility and ease of access.
Now these requirements did result in one of the largest cases Alain has ever created. However, it is not so large that it becomes unmanageable.

“Instructions Inside”
Let’s talk about what actually goes inside the MyGuardPod Solu-Cortef Edition.
- Two Vials of Solu-Cortef, out of the box
- Alcohol Swabs
- Band-aides
- Four Intramuscular Syringes
- This instructions sheet.

I created the one page document after I suffered a severe adrenal crisis at work and realized my own documentation was lacking. I had plenty of instructions, but they were confusing to those whose first instinct is to completely shut down in a life and death situation. I jokingly, but accurately, call the updated instructions the “If Amber Is Dying Kit.” HR was visibly uncomfortable at the name, but I did not care.
This is the “If Amber is dying kit.” Full stop. This is also why every case will also have the blessing of “May you Remain Clearly Alive” on the inside cover. May this case empower those in critical need of this emergency injection to remain Clearly Alive.
Meet the Creator of MyGuardPod
Now that we have covered the most important aspects, let’s talk about Alain and why he does what he does. MyGuardPod started from a very real situation. A close friend of his was dealing with heart issues and had to carry nitroglycerin at all times. He quickly realized there were no solid, purpose-built solutions on the market for safe transport.
With his background in electronics and 3D printing, he started designing a solution specifically for that need. Then things naturally evolved. Someone reached out for a naloxone case, then EpiPen carriers, and later a mother from Florida contacted him for her daughter’s epilepsy rescue medication. I personally reached out to him about the solu-cortef case.
Each product came from a real person, a real situation, and a real problem that needed a better solution. Over time, this became more than just a project. It became his mission.
From the start, the focus has always been on durability, accessibility, and real-world use. This is not just something that looks good, but something that actually works when stress is high.
Today, the goal is simple: build reliable, well-designed tools that help people carry and access life-saving medication safely, and keep improving them through real-world collaboration. I am honored that Alain and I were able to collaborate on this project.

Final Thoughts
I have told Alain multiple times that this is a dream come true. Y’all, I have used my emergency injection kit in a variety of locations with varying levels of severity over the twenty plus years I have been diagnosed. Sometimes I am able to self-advocate. Other times, I am completely incapacitated.
This design is based on my lived experience, coupled with Alain’s expertise in manufacturing. The TPU interior provides support and cushioning while the ABS exterior provides extreme durability. The text and instructions inside are based on feedback from both myself and others within our community be it caregivers or those diagnosed.
We finally have a custom built solution that will empower us to remain Clearly Alive.
May you always remain Clearly Alive.
